Leading the fight for election integrity
The Travis County Republican Party has been a leader among Texas county parties when it comes to standing up for the integrity of our vote — from recruiting more election judges and poll workers than the Democrats in recent elections to hand-counting mail-in ballots in the 2024 Primary and having THREE committees dedicated to election reform.
On Oct. 15, a majority of the Travis GOP Executive Committee took a bold stand against a brand of election machines widely known to create tabulation problems. See below for the resolution. In the meantime, if you would like to serve as an election judge, alternate judge, election clerk, poll watcher, or other role, let us know at elections.TCRP@gmail.com. Resolution Regarding the Use of Voting Machines in the 2024 Election
WHEREAS, recent Logic and Accuracy (L&A) testing in Dallas and Collin Counties has revealed failures in ES&S voting machines, which undermines confidence in their reliability and accuracy for use in the upcoming election; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Secretary of State is responsible for ensuring the integrity of all voting systems used within the state, and it is critical to guarantee that elections are conducted transparently, securely, and free from any vulnerabilities that could lead to tampering or errors in vote counting; and
WHEREAS, public confidence in the electoral process is fundamental to the functioning of our democratic system, yet many voters have lost faith in the transparency and security of electronic voting machines due to their vulnerability to tampering and hacking, as highlighted in multiple advisories and warnings from the FBI regarding election security risks posed by foreign adversaries; and
WHEREAS, FBI Director Christopher Wray has consistently warned about foreign influence operations and cybersecurity threats targeting U.S. elections, noting that adversaries seek to create chaos and undermine confidence in the election process, as outlined in various public statements and advisories; and
WHEREAS, the FBI and CISA have issued joint advisories highlighting vulnerabilities in election systems and emphasizing the importance of auditing, security measures, and paper-based voting methods to ensure accurate and tamper-proof elections;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Travis County Republican Party Executive Committee supports the immediate decertification of all ES&S voting machines in all Counties for the 2024 election, including during the Early Voting period and on Election Day, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Travis County Republican Party Executive Committee requests that the Texas Secretary of State take immediate action to ensure that hand-counted paper ballots are used in these counties to guarantee the transparency and integrity of the election process; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we urge the Texas Secretary of State to work swiftly to replace vulnerable voting systems with secure, transparent alternatives in order to restore public trust and ensure that the will of the people is accurately reflected in the 2024 election.
This resolution references the FBI's advisory warnings about vulnerabilities in election systems, particularly the risks of foreign interference and hacking attempts, as highlighted by FBI Director Wray:
