INTRODUCING: Your 2026 Republican Primary Candidates

NEW: See a TEMPORARY list of everyone who filed on our Candidates page. More details and final list coming very soon.

TCRP Candidate Recruitment Chair Ben Shrader reports a more unified Republican presence on the ballot than ever before, plus a laser-focus on several winnable races. This includes …

  • 3 Republican Candidates for U.S. Congressional District 37, the winner of which will take on Democratic-Socialist Greg Casar this November

  • Republican Candidates for Texas House Districts 47, 48, 50, & 51 — more than we’ve had in recent election years, and a focus for Election Year 2026 for the Travis GOP

  • Nearly 100 Precinct Chair filings, with only 1 contested seat (97 total)

“This is a great victory for Travis County and those numbers do not even include local races for which we recruited numerous candidates, or non-partisan races [City Councils, school boards, etc.] where we recruited a Republican candidate,” Shrader said. “Well done, team! We all have some bragging to do.”

Some other items of interest as we head into the Primary …

  • Congressional district lines have changed thanks to the Big Beautiful Map, giving Republicans more representation in Capitol Hill. To see what races you’re eligible to vote in, generate your custom Primary ballot visit the Travis County Elections Division's portal (site may be under repairs or development). Your custom ballot will confirm whether you are in the newly drawn district lines, as will your 2026 Voter Registration Card which will arrive in the mail soon.

  • We are again recruiting a small army of Election Judges, Alternates, Clerks, and Counters to keep ballot integrity alive. Let us know if you can help (some positions pay $22/hour). elections.TCRP@gmail.com

  • While the Travis GOP does not endorse candidates before the Primary (that’s the job of Republican voters) we do encourage each of our supporters to get to know the candidates and help the ones you feel are best for the job. We will have more details on the Candidates page soon.

  • Numerous clubs as well as the TCRP are hosting candidate forums this season, including a big event we’re hosting for Congressional District 10 as a fundraiser on Monday, Jan. 26 (get tickets here), and one for CD 37 on Tuesday, Feb. 10. Check our Events calendar for other, smaller opportunities as they pop up.
