Precinct Chairs Check Fleck

AUSTIN -- Jennifer Fleck was elected by the Travis County Republican Party Executive Committee Tuesday night to serve as the next County GOP Chairman.

Precinct Chairmen from all across Travis County voted Fleck to fill an unexpired term of 11 months. Fleck received 62 votes and Sam Webb took 44 votes, with one abstention.

The following quote may be attributed to Jennifer Fleck, Travis County Republican Chair:

"If you never knew there was a Republican alternative in the Austin area, then brace yourselves: We're about to get loud! We're going to work feverishly these next 11 months to make sure the voices of hard-working and overtaxed Austinites are heard, and do everything we can to break up the radical Left Democrat monopoly in Travis County.

"Last night's victory is for 'We the People,'" Fleck continued. "I am a Trump-style populist. I will not compromise on our conservative principles, and will be a fearless defender of our Republican platform as I have been for years.”

"After a long night with the executive committee, I walked into the TCRP office this morning ready for work! I will immediately build bridges with the many conservative grassroots organizations and movements across Travis County, especially supporters of our President Donald J. Trump. I will put a renewed emphasis on block-walking, messaging, rallies, and the other kinetic actions it takes to win elections locally. It's my goal to recruit a Republican candidate for every race on the 2026 ballot so that all voters have a choice once again. And I will continue our historic efforts to make sure each and every vote is counted properly on every election night."

Fleck ran for County Chairman before, having sought the position via the 2022 Travis County Republican Primary. She came in a strong second that year.

Prior to that, she ran in a crowded field in the 2020 Primary for Texas House District 47, to unseat the incumbent Democrat. Fleck finished first among five Republican challengers, making the runoff.

Fleck is a known figure at legislative and State Board of Education hearings, promising on Tuesday to help the Travis GOP become a force to reckon with at the Texas Capitol. She has been particularly active in leading the charge against radical Leftist indoctrination and age-inappropriate material in Texas public schools and libraries, and has written three bills. Lately, she has led We the People Lake Travis, a conservative grassroots organization dedicated to winning elections and promoting conservative values.

Fleck, who has owned a home in the Lake Travis area since 2005, has three children. She works as General Counsel with 25 years experience in small business and oil and gas.

Fleck succeeds Matt Mackowiak, who held the post since 2017. Vice Chairman Don Brown served as Acting Chairman during the interim.
